Cell to Summit is an altitude training and performance project led by Lucia Janičová, a scientist, mountaineer and the first Slovak woman to summit Mount Everest.
The aim is simple: to help athletes, mountaineers and expedition clients prepare more intelligently for the demands of altitude, endurance and extreme environments.
From sea-level training to summit attempts, performance starts long before the mountain. It begins with adaptation, consistency and a clear understanding of how the body responds to stress.
Cell to Summit is currently being developed as a small pilot programme. We are offering a limited number of early sessions for athletes, mountaineers and expedition clients who want to explore altitude training as part of their preparation.
Why Lucia?
Lucia brings a rare combination of scientific understanding and lived experience in extreme environments.
She is a scientist, mother and mountaineer who has climbed some of the world’s great peaks, including Mont Blanc, Mera Peak, Aconcagua and Mount Everest. In 2024, she became the first Slovak woman to reach the summit of Everest.
Her approach is grounded in knowledge, preparation and respect for the body’s ability to adapt. She understands altitude not just as a physical challenge, but as a psychological and emotional one too.
